Kudlapura is my ancestoral village close to Nanjangud town and 42 Kms South west of Mysore, Karnataka. It has around 500 dwellings and close to 3000 In population. The primary occupation of most people is agriculture, cattle rearing and sericulture. Agriculture is highly dependant on rain and with rains being scanty in this region, economy is way behind the expected growth. The main crops grown are Horse gram, Jowar, Finger millet (ragi), Sunflower, Black eyed bean and Cotton. It is covered by patches of scrub jungle. Atimes wild boars are spotted near the village and no elephants so far noticed though they occasionally visit neighbouring villages as Bandipur National park being close by.
Ancient temple probably more than 100 years old of an Hindu Saint Goddess Doddamma.
I could capture only few birds during my short visit but it was memorable as some exotic birds like Blue faced malkoha, white browed bulbul which was unexpected. Below are few snaps of the birds taken around the village.
